1989 - The pea basket Study *(no)12. An orange basket chock-full of snap peas sits on a table. This oil on canvas study displays a modern impressionistic style, with a beautifully blended background. The colors of the sun drench the freshly-picked peas in a warm glow. Loose tendrils from the peas wrap around the handle of the basket, while others fall to the table in a display of abundance. One pea pod towards the bottom right hand side of the painting has already been opened, waiting to be devoured by someone just off to the side. This oil study diplays the colors and emotions of a bountiful fall harvest. |
