2004 - The pigeon house A thicket of flowers grow wildly in front of a tall birdhouse. This larger oil-based canvas painting was lovingly created with flowing brush strokes reminiscent of the impressionists of earlier years. A path leads up to an umber barn in the middle rear of the painting. A large oak trees peeks out from the top right hand side of the barn, while a fence in front tries to hold back the masses of bushes and flowers growing in the space. A multitude of flowers fight for the orange glow from the sun. Dark nooks and crannies in the bushes and flowers surrounding the pigeon house contrast brightly with the pigeon house itself, creating a juxtaposition of color that resembles an afternoon summer glow. |
